RIVER SAFETY
Any day on the river should include safety gear and a simple plan. Accidents happen unexpectedly. Preparation keeps panic at bay and problems manageable.
Before You Go:
- Know your put-in and take-out
- Have a realistic time plan
- Carry a map of your route
- Bring your cell phone with river maps downloaded
- Tell someone your plan and check in afterward
Always Pack:
- A proper first aid kit
- Repair materials for your craft
- Extra dry clothing
- 20–30 liter dry bag
- Headlamp
- Matches and fire starter
- Food and water or filtration
The river is the boss.
