CANOES
We carry the largest stock of canoes in the region.
The original exploratory craft of North America’s river systems and still a complete joy to own and paddle. Canoes can make a river experience dreamy. From a day trip down the Blackfoot to a multi-day camping adventure, a canoe will deliver a memorable outcome.

BRANDS WE CARRY
Esquif Canoes
Esquif canoes are mostly built from T-Formex material. Esquif manufactures T-Formex as the replacement for the old reliable Royalex, with the added benefit of being slightly stiffer.
T-Formex is one of the most durable materials used in canoe construction and will tackle almost anything in your path.
We carry several Esquif models. Listed here are our most common, but call us for current stock.

Wenonah Canoes
For more than 50 years, Wenonah has been building top-quality canoes with designs to meet nearly every paddling purpose.
Mostly known for their lightweight composite canoes, Wenonah models perform well on both rivers and lakes. We typically carry the models most requested and best suited for paddling in our region.
Our stock is generally limited to a few popular models that are widely known for their versatility.
Northstar Canoe
Owning a Northstar Canoe feels like owning half canoe and half art.
These fully composite canoes offer incredible weight savings while still being extremely tough. Northstar offers a full range of high-performance tandem and solo models to fit your canoeing plans.
With five different layups available that vary in weight and strength, the Northstar website provides a full explanation of each option. It is worth taking the time to read the descriptions to understand the differences.
BlackLite Layup
A carbon and aramid fabric blend that produces a superbly lightweight and stiff canoe that is a pure joy to paddle while remaining very durable.
Example weights:
Northwind Tandem 16 ft – 41 lbs
Northwind Solo 15’5″ – 29 lbs
IXP Layup
This layup is extremely tough. A substantial layer of Innegra combined with an inner blanket of aramid creates one of the strongest composite boats available.
If your home river or plans include rocky runs and some serious maneuvering, IXP is a great choice. I personally paddle an IXP Phoenix, a boat I truly love, and at 41 lbs it is still easy to carry.
Call us for a current list of canoes in stock or if you need to special order. We typically receive only two shipments of canoes each year, so planning ahead for special needs can take some time.
